Ask any American what they think of when you say “Boy Scouts” and the vast majority will mention camping and the outdoors. It is as American as baseball, hotdogs, or apple pie. While the association of Boy Scouts and the fun of outdoor adventure is a natural one, it is perhaps more important to understand that camping experiences provide more than just fun. While our organization recognizes the importance of providing enjoyable experiences for youth, our program is designed to accomplish much more. Specifically, the BSA is committed to providing a program that comprehensively addresses the important elements of healthy youth development. The long-term goal is to prepare young people to achieve their full potential for happy and productive lives.

Ten Mile River-

TMR is not only a spectacular place for long-term summer camping, but it is also home to over 30 facilities for units to hold their monthly camping trips, or scouting families to have a weekend getaway. Short Term facilities are available from Labor Day in September until the end of June. The Delaware River sites are also available on weekends in the summer months. Among the many facilities at TMR are:

Fully Winterized Cabins, with electricity, bathrooms & kitchens

Leanto Sites, 3 to 9 leantos per site, some located on the Delaware

Tent Sites, some of which are located right on the Delaware River

Family Cabins, 4 to 5 person cabins on Turnpike Pond and Lake Nianque

Weekend check-in takes place at the Headquarters Trading Post, located on Crystal Lake Road (County Route 26). Units may check-in on Friday between 6 and 10 PM, or on Saturday between 8 AM and 6 PM. Check-out is between 9 AM and 3 PM on Sunday.

Now available year round Horsemanship Merit Badge and horseback riding at Rolling Stone Ranch just minutes from TMR! Scouts can spend a full day of program at the ranch learning Horsemanship during the course of camp in addition Rolling Stone Ranch boasts an indoor heated area for winter riding,


Alpine Scout Camp-

is located in the heart of Alpine, New Jersey and is only 10 miles north of the George Washington Bridge.

We offer short term camping to Scouts and have a large selection of facilities to suit your group’s needs. We have everything from small tenting sites to a large conference center which can sleep over 40.

Every weekend from September to June, Alpine Scout Camp hosts a large number of events: District Camporees, Wintorees, Klondike Derbies, and Regional and National Conferences.

Also, Alpine Scout Camp offers a large range of weekend activities like Archery, compass courses, and various in/out of camp hiking trails. The Gary I. Laermer Activity Center includes a 24′ indoor and 32′ outdoor Climbing Wall and a brand new Low Cope Course.


Pouch Scout Camp-

William H. Pouch Scout Camp is located in Staten Island and is New York City's only Scout Camp. 
Pouch Camp is open year round for Scouting activities and is accesible by mass transit.. The camp is approximately 143 acres, including several cabins with capacity to hold 14 to 22 Scouts and Scouters. The Camp also includes 55 leantos, 20 tent sites, and a low-impact Camp-O-Ree field with an adjacent amphitheater. There are numerous Picnic Groves as well as a Chapel for our visitors to utilize. 
Pouch Camp is an ideal location for day trips and activities, weekend camping, and small 
conferences. Our camp has many facilities to meet your Camping and meeting needs.


Please Note The Following:

  • No reservation can be made online earlier than 11 months in the future. Only GNYC units may make reservations 12 months in the future by telephoning 212-651-3077.
  • All reservations should begin on Friday night, whether you plan to arrive on Friday or Saturday. Unless it’s a three-day weekend, your reservation should be for 2 nights. l
  • If an additional night is requested the checkout time is adjusted to 3:00pm on the last day of the reservation. For example if one additional night is requested for a weekend, checkout time will be on Monday at 3:00pm.
  • Tenting reservations require payment for the site only, at the time of reservation.
